The Dieppe Le Tréport wind farm is of the same size as the now-under-construction îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier and will also feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines. However, the wind turbines at Dieppe Le Tréport will be installed on jacket foundations, instead of monopiles.
Eoliennes en Mer Dieppe Le Tréport (EMDT), the project company behind the wind farm, established by Ocean Winds, Sumitomo Corporation, and Caisse des Dépôts, has already chosen the main suppliers for the project at the end of 2022.
The towers for Siemens Gamesa’s wind turbines will be assembled in the port of Brest by SPIE Industrie, in collaboration with Haizea Wind Group’s Haizea Breizh.
A vessel reservation agreement has been signed with the Jan De Nul Group for the transport and installation of wind turbines and a capacity reservation agreement has been signed with the Navantia-Windar consortium for the jacket foundations and the accompanying pin piles.
The offshore substation will be designed and built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, with its foundation to be manufactured by Navantia Seanergies.
In November 2022, EMDT announced that it was also in exclusive negotiation with DEME for the transport and installation of the jacket foundations and the substation, and for a turnkey contract for the manufacture and installation of the subsea cables connecting the wind turbines and the offshore substation.
The 496 MW Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm, located 17 kilometres offshore Dieppe and 15.5 kilometres from Le Tréport, is scheduled to be operational in 2025.
