Four 375 MW substations – each equipped with two transformers – will collect power generated by wind turbines, transform it and export it to land.

The substations will be manufactured at PTSC M&C’s yard in Vungtau, a port city in South Vietnam.
Semco Maritime will design, procure and install high and medium voltage, SCADA, and auxiliary systems supported by ISC Consulting Engineers and Hyundai Electric.
The contract will be executed in 2023-2026.
Baltica 2 offshore wind farm will comprise 107 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,498 MW.
“The signing of the contract for offshore power stations for Baltica 2 is another key agreement within the project. The project is gaining momentum and has clearly entered the phase of finalizing further important contracts necessary for the development of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. Substations will be delivered for the Baltica 2 stage of about 1.5 GW capacity which is planned to be commissioned by 2027,” said Wojciech D?browski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
The project will be developed in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea between ?eba and Ustka while the closest wind turbines to the shore will be at least 25 kilometres, according to PGE and Ørsted, the developers of the wind farm.
PGE and Ørsted plan to commission Baltica 2 by the end of 2027 and the 1 GW Baltica 3 project by the end of 2029.
Location decisions and environmental decisions have already been issued for both stages. Applicable contracts with the transmission system operator, pertaining to the connection to the network, as well as laying and maintaining the cables have been signed as well.
“The signing the contract for offshore power stations is an important milestone for the project which brings us closer to delivering Poland’s largest-ever renewable energy project – an offshore wind farm that will produce enough green energy to cover the power consumption of approximately 2.4 million Polish households,” said Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Managing Director of Ørsted Offshore Poland.
The projects have received Contracts for Difference (CfD) and the decisions on the individual level of support have already been issued by the European Commission and the President of the Polish Energy Regulatory Office.
Last month, Ørsted issued a call for competition for the transport and installation of foundations and offshore substations for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm.
