CDBMB JSC (part of Atomenergomash, the machine building division of Rosatom) has manufactured and shipped the set of traps to be installed as part of the gas treatment system of Unit 7 at the Tianwan NPP under construction in China. The set consists of 9 traps.

The traps made of stainless steel are cylindrical vessels with elliptic bottoms. The vessel height is 1.28 m, diameter is 0.4 m. The traps are intended for separation of condensed moisture from vapor and gas medium. The baffle that provides the separation by flow deflection by 180° is installed inside the trap casing for this purpose. Moisture flows down the baffle and is automatically removed from the trap, and the gas flow is directed to the further treatment stage.

“The traps belong to the key equipment included in the nuclear power plant gas treatment system. Our products are distinguished by high reliability and service life of 60 years”, says Nikolay Vasiliev, CDBMB JSC Chief Designer for remotely controlled and transport process equipment.

Apart from the traps, CDBMB JSC supplies filters, heat exchangers, compressors and other equipment for the gas treatment system of Tianwan NPP.

Tianwan NPP is located in Jiangsu Province, on the coast of the Yellow Sea. It is the largest project of Russian and Chinese economic cooperation. Currently, Rosatom is constructing two new power units with VVER-1200 reactors of generation 3+ there (Units 7 and 8).
