The project will include up to three gigawatts of onshore wind capacity, with energy and molecular storage.
Led by Abraxas Power and its subsidiary, Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation (EVREC), the initiative aims to transform energy production in the region. It is expected to bolster Newfoundland and Labrador’s shift toward green energy, drive economic growth, and establish the province as a significant contributor to the global hydrogen market. EVREC has secured access to over 300 km² of Crown lands for the project’s development.
The project includes up to three gigawatts of onshore wind power, complemented by energy and molecular storage systems to enable the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia behind the meter. Annually, it is projected to produce 180,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 1 million tonnes of green ammonia, supporting sustainable energy solutions.

To facilitate exports, EVREC plans to develop dedicated port infrastructure for global market distribution. Pre-construction efforts are well underway, including engineering, wind resource assessments, and environmental studies. These activities involve collecting environmental data and engaging with the public and stakeholders, with the final project design shaped by ongoing evaluations.
