The semi-rigid CarbonCore panels feature eyelets for easy attachment to surfaces on campers, recreational vehicles, sailboats, and yachts. They utilize 25.5%-efficient monocrystalline back contact cells from Maxeon, a Singapore-based manufacturer. Sara Plaga, Levante’s co-founder and CEO, stated: “These are integrated into our lightweight carbon fiber structures to deliver top-tier performance in a unique, high-end design.”
Available in 55 W and 110 W variants with either a matte or hail-proof finish, the larger panel measures 1,123 mm x 546 mm x 4 mm, weighs 2.2 kg, and contains 32 solar cells, while the smaller version is 615 mm x 546 mm x 4 mm and weighs 1.1 kg. Both include 5-meter cables, operate at a maximum voltage of 19.6 V and current of 5.6 A, and are up to 40% lighter than traditional panels. The modules perform well in low-light and high-temperature conditions, can be connected in series, and are compatible with various battery types.
Developed in collaboration with Italian companies Solbian, a specialty module manufacturer, and Recarbon, an advanced material recycling firm, the CarbonCore panels prioritize durability and sustainability. Plaga noted: “Customers are also becoming more attentive to the origin of materials, sustainable production processes, and the use of recycled components – values that are deeply embedded in our work.”
The panels cater to clients in outdoor, mobility, and design sectors, with demand from Northern Europe, Germany, France, Canada, and the U.S. Plaga emphasized: “A clear trend is the growing preference for long-lasting, lightweight solutions over cheaper alternatives that degrade quickly or have fragile cells. This makes our panels ideal for mobility applications.”
Founded in 2021, Levante offers solar modules and portable energy storage systems using lithium-iron phosphate batteries. Plaga said: “We design and deliver fully tailored solar installations from concept to battery and mechanical structure based on our customers’ unique needs.” The company also provides engineering expertise for custom solutions and advanced research projects, integrating solar cells into structures of various shapes.
The CarbonCore panels are available for purchase through Levante’s website, with plans to expand its distributor network across Europe, enhancing access to these innovative, eco-friendly solar solutions.
