The Bingara Project, with a contiguous area of 484.1km², includes two north-south mineralised trends along the Peel Fault system.
The Bingara Project covers 484.1 km² and features two north-south mineralized trends along the Peel Fault system. The Nundle Project, encompassing 259.1 km², also includes prospective target areas along the same fault system. A high-density LiDAR and high-resolution imagery survey has been completed across both projects, providing detailed digital terrain models to support future exploration efforts.
Cosmo Metals is now prioritizing its exploration strategy for these projects. Initial activities focus on key target areas, particularly the Hidden Treasure – Spring Creek Trend at Bingara. Cosmo’s managing director, Ian Prentice, stated: “Cosmo is delighted to complete the acquisition of the Bingara & Nundle Projects and excited to commence our exploration at these underexplored assets, which feature several substantial historical mines. The Hidden Treasure – Spring Creek Trend presents compelling first-pass drill targets as a follow-up to previous shallow and high-grade gold drill intercepts.”
During a site visit, Cosmo’s technical team confirmed the presence of largely untested mineralized systems at both projects. The LiDAR data is expected to help identify potential extensions of these systems. Further geological mapping and sampling are planned at the Spring Creek area to refine drill targets and better understand mineralization controls.
At Bingara, initial ground activities include mapping and rock chip sampling at the Evans and Corrigan targets in the northwest to evaluate historical workings and assess mineralization potential. These efforts aim to build on the projects’ historical significance within the New England Orogen, a region known for hosting valuable gold, antimony, and copper deposits.
In August 2024, Cosmo expanded its portfolio by acquiring two tenements at the Kanowna gold project in Western Australia, further strengthening its exploration operations. The company’s focus remains on advancing its exploration programs to unlock the potential of its newly acquired assets in New South Wales.
