In March 2025, EEW SPC completed the first of twelve planned shipments, delivering monopiles from the port of Rostock. The company reported that 15 of the 36 monopiles it is producing for the project have already been collected. The remaining shipments are scheduled for delivery between now and July 2025.
Each monopile measures an average of 82 meters in length and weighs approximately 1,300 tonnes. These structures serve as critical foundations for the wind turbines in the Thor offshore wind farm.
EEW SPC stated: “The delivery of the first set of monopiles marks a significant milestone in our contribution to the Thor offshore wind project.” The company emphasized its commitment to meeting the project’s timeline and supporting the development of renewable energy infrastructure.
The Thor wind farm is a key component of Denmark’s efforts to expand its offshore wind capacity, contributing to the region’s clean energy goals. EEW SPC’s role in supplying the monopiles underscores its expertise in manufacturing large-scale components for offshore wind projects.
The company added: “We are proud to support RWE in bringing the Thor wind farm to fruition, delivering high-quality monopiles to ensure the project’s success.” The ongoing deliveries will continue to facilitate the construction of this major renewable energy initiative in Danish waters.
The project’s progress reflects the growing importance of offshore wind in advancing sustainable energy solutions, with EEW SPC playing a pivotal role in the supply chain for the Thor wind farm.
