
Passenger vehicle sales reached 372,615 units, up 19.41% year-on-year and 0.32% month-on-month. Battery electric vehicles accounted for 195,740 units, a 45.57% year-on-year surge and a 17.84% month-on-month increase, comprising 52.53% of passenger vehicle sales. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales totaled 176,875 units, slightly down 0.4% from last year and 13.85% lower than the previous month.

BYD’s overseas sales of new energy passenger vehicles and pick-up trucks soared to 78,705 units in April, a 91.9% year-on-year increase, highlighting the company’s expanding global presence. For the January-to-April period, BYD’s total vehicle sales reached 1,380,893 units, a 46.98% jump compared to the same period in 2024.
By brand and product series, the Dynasty and Ocean series collectively sold 347,053 vehicles, up 16.5% from the previous year. The DENZA brand recorded 15,388 units, a 38.4% year-on-year increase, while FANFGCHENGBAO and YANGWANG brands contributed 10,093 and 135 units, respectively. Commercial vehicle sales surged to 7,474 units, a 524.39% year-on-year increase and a 24.55% month-on-month rise.
The significant growth in battery electric vehicle sales reflects BYD’s focus on sustainable mobility solutions, catering to rising demand for clean energy vehicles. The company’s diverse brand portfolio, including premium and commercial offerings, supports its robust market performance both domestically and internationally.
