With an investment of approximately $20 million, NewCarbon will fund the development of the RNG facility, sparing Hastings the expense of installing a methane capture system. This enables the city to meet future environmental regulations without burdening taxpayers. The project is also projected to generate up to $2 million in royalty revenue for Hastings over the 25-year period, providing a financial benefit to the community.

Construction of the RNG facility is scheduled to begin in late 2027, with operations expected to commence by mid-2029.
