By combining FOTON’s vehicle manufacturing expertise with Huawei Digital Power’s innovations in digital and power electronics, the collaboration seeks to expand electric heavy-duty trucks’ applications across various operational scenarios. This effort aims to reduce logistics costs and carbon emissions, paving the way for fully electric logistics.
In April 2025, Huawei Digital Power launched a megawatt-level ultra-fast charging solution for heavy-duty trucks, providing a 2,400-amp output that is four times more efficient than traditional systems, enabling a “five-minute charge for 100 kilometers of range.” This addresses challenges like extended charging times and inefficiencies in electric truck operations.
The partnership will integrate advanced technologies to advance ultra-fast charging, speeding up the market entry of compatible commercial vehicles and fostering smarter, more sustainable industry solutions.
China’s new energy heavy-duty truck market is growing rapidly, fueled by stricter environmental standards and demand for sustainable transport. Electric trucks are a key focus for future growth. In 2025, FOTON’s new energy vehicle and heavy-duty truck sales, along with exports, performed strongly, with Foton Auman new energy truck sales rising 322% year-on-year in April, highlighting the demand for electrification.
