The Alibunar project represents Sany’s inaugural investment in the country.
The Alibunar project is located in eastern Serbia, an area recognized for its favorable wind conditions. With an installed capacity of 168 megawatts (MW), the project is expected to generate approximately 480 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually once operational. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin by 2028, and the facility is planned to operate for 25 years.
The wind farm will contribute to Serbia’s clean energy supply and support the country’s efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels by incorporating more sustainable energy sources into its national grid. Sany aims to apply its technical expertise to ensure the project's smooth development, timely completion, and reliable performance during its operational life.
A dedicated on-site operation and maintenance team from Sany will manage the facility, providing long-term technical support and performance oversight.

We will actively co-operate with local partners and introduce advanced wind power technologies and solutions to help Serbia realise its energy transition and sustainable development goals.”
Sany has made climate action a central part of its sustainability strategy, in line with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. In 2024, the company’s wind turbines produced 135.8 billion kWh of electricity, helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 72.87 million tonnes. This environmental benefit is equivalent to planting approximately 3.3 billion trees.
Looking ahead, Sany has committed to increasing the recyclability of its mainstream turbine models to 95% by 2030, using 2020 as the baseline year. This initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to promote environmentally responsible product design and support the circular economy in the renewable energy sector.
In addition to its project in Serbia, Sany has also expanded its global footprint. In October 2024, the company signed an agreement to supply wind turbines totaling over 1.3 gigawatts (GW) to three subsidiaries of the JSW Group, a multinational conglomerate based in India.
The Alibunar project reflects Sany’s continued focus on innovation, clean energy development, and international collaboration, reinforcing its role in the global transition to low-carbon power generation.
