Phase 2 of the Vifor wind farm will add 42 turbines, with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2027. Construction of Phase 1, which includes 30 turbines of 6.4MW each, is already in progress and expected to be operational by the end of 2025. Once both phases are complete, Vifor will be Romania’s largest wind farm built in the past decade and the second largest in the country’s history.
The fully operational wind farm will produce enough electricity to power over 700,000 homes, contributing significantly to Romania’s energy needs. Rezolv emphasized that the project will deliver some of the lowest levelised costs of wind energy in the country, ensuring efficient and affordable renewable power.
The Vifor wind farm supports Romania’s national target of achieving at least 38.3% of its gross final energy consumption from renewable sources by 2030. By expanding clean energy capacity, the project aligns with efforts to enhance sustainability and reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
Rezolv’s commitment to the Vifor wind farm underscores its role in strengthening Romania’s renewable energy sector. The project’s scale and efficiency will help meet growing energy demands while promoting environmental sustainability. With Phase 1 nearing completion and Phase 2 now authorized, the Vifor wind farm is poised to become a cornerstone of Romania’s renewable energy landscape, delivering reliable and cost-effective power to communities across the country.
