Wipro will design, develop, implement and provide support for the infrastructure and smart applications associated with the new MDM system.
Under the contract, Wipro will design, develop, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure and smart applications for the MDM system. This system will enable continuous monitoring of power flow, voltage levels, and equipment conditions, providing real-time data to enhance grid stability. The advanced technology will support intelligent forecasting and reporting, allowing National Grid SA to improve grid planning and operational efficiency.
Vinay Firake, Wipro’s CEO for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa, said: “We are excited to build a long-standing relationship with National Grid SA and are dedicated to assisting them in navigating the evolving energy landscape. With our deep domain expertise in the energy sector, smart solutions, and advanced technological capabilities, we are proud to contribute to projects that are essential to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and help the Kingdom realise its innovation and digitalisation ambitions.”
The MDM system’s intelligent integrations will facilitate proactive maintenance, accelerate fault detection, and provide insights into energy consumption patterns. These improvements will enable National Grid SA to optimize power distribution, reduce operational costs, and minimize outages, ultimately enhancing service reliability for customers.
Wipro’s expertise spans consulting, design, engineering, and operations, supporting clients in building sustainable, future-ready businesses.
