The Leapmotor B01 is marketed as a "high-quality smart sedan for young consumers" and is available in six variants, priced between 89,800 yuan and 119,800 yuan. The vehicle features a streamlined exterior design with a drag coefficient as low as 0.197 Cd, emphasizing aerodynamic efficiency. Key design elements include a full-width LED light bar, split headlamps, a ducktail rear spoiler, and smoked-through taillights. Customers can choose from eight paint colors, including the "Morgan Pink" shade co-developed with Pantone.
With a length of 4,770 mm and a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, the B01 offers spacious interior dimensions that aim to deliver midsize-level comfort within a compact form. The cabin adopts a dual-tone theme of Phantom Purple and Light Grey, incorporating geometric floating elements. A central highlight is the 14.6-inch 2.5K infotainment screen, which runs on Qualcomm’s 8295 chip and Leapmotor OS 4.0. The system offers a “3D Dynamic Desktop,” split-screen multitasking, customizable scenes with over 200 functions, and an AI voice assistant. Features of the assistant include multi-intent understanding, dialect recognition, 60-second ongoing interaction, and the ability to generate images from text inputs.
Technologically, the B01 integrates the Leapmotor Pilot advanced driver-assistance system, offering highway and city navigation assistance along with memory parking. The memory parking function supports route learning up to one kilometer and allows for remote operation through a smartphone app. Additional standard features across all trims include a 360-degree camera system, transparent chassis view, and Sentinel mode, which will be delivered to mid- and base-level variants via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Powertrain configurations include three CLTC-rated range options: 430 km, 550 km, and 650 km, all using a rear-wheel-drive layout. The integrated oil-cooled electric drive system delivers a peak power of 160 kW, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in 6.4 seconds. The B01 uses Leapmotor’s latest CTC 2.0 Plus (cell-to-chassis) integration, aiming to improve energy efficiency and structural strength. Its chassis was co-developed with Stellantis and features a front MacPherson strut and a rear five-link independent suspension setup.
With strong early production numbers and a combination of smart features, performance, and design, the Leapmotor B01 is positioned to compete in the growing electric vehicle market segment in China.
