The planned wind farm will feature 12 turbines.
The wind farm will consist of 12 turbines, designed to produce enough sustainable electricity to power approximately 52,000 households each year. This initiative supports Germany’s commitment to increasing clean energy production and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The project’s ownership will be shared among three parties: local landowners, PNE Group, and Loeningen’s residents, fostering a collaborative approach.
Through a community wind farm model, local citizens can invest in the turbines’ operations, promoting community engagement and financial participation. This structure ensures that the project benefits both the environment and the local economy while encouraging a sense of shared responsibility among residents.
Roland Stanze, PNE Group’s chief operating officer, emphasized the project’s importance, stating: “Getting the permit for the Überhäsiges Viertel wind farm is a big milestone for the project and shows how closely we work with locals and other regional partners. This project once again demonstrates how important it is for us to engage in dialogue with local people on an equal footing. Only through such partnerships can sustainable projects be implemented successfully and in line with economic and social requirements.”
In April 2025, PNE Group also received approval for two onshore wind projects in Hesse and a ground-mounted solar photovoltaic facility in Brandenburg, Germany. The Herzhausen wind project in Hesse will feature six turbines, each with a 5.5MW capacity, totaling 33MW of renewable energy production. These developments highlight PNE Group’s ongoing efforts to expand Germany’s renewable energy infrastructure through collaborative and community-focused initiatives.
The Loeningen wind farm underscores the value of partnerships between developers, local communities, and regional stakeholders. By prioritizing open communication and shared investment, the project aims to deliver sustainable energy solutions that align with both environmental goals and local interests.
