BXP is developing the project with design provided by KPF.
The 930,000-square-foot tower will feature an underground transit entrance linked to Grand Central Terminal, improving access to a major transportation hub. The design incorporates strategic setbacks to minimize impact on light and air in the densely built environment, while green spaces foster visual and environmental connections to the surrounding urban landscape.
Luigi Morfea, construction executive at Turner Construction, stated: “We are honoured to contribute to a project that not only enhances the iconic New York City skyline but also improves access to public transit. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of the public and our workforce throughout the construction process. We look forward to collaborating with BXP, KPF, and our trade partners to bring this vision to life.”
The project targets LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, reflecting its commitment to sustainable design and energy efficiency. The tower’s innovative features aim to balance aesthetic appeal with environmental responsibility, supporting Manhattan’s urban development goals.
In addition to the 343 Madison Avenue project, Turner Construction is leading a joint venture for the $700 million Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program at Memphis International Airport in the United States. Partnering with Ardmore Roderick and Chris Woods Construction, Turner is upgrading infrastructure, enhancing safety, and improving passenger experiences at the airport.
The 343 Madison Avenue tower project underscores Turner Construction’s expertise in delivering complex urban developments. By integrating sustainable design and improved transit access, the company contributes to New York’s infrastructure while prioritizing safety and collaboration with partners. This initiative strengthens Manhattan’s position as a global business hub, blending modern architecture with practical urban solutions.
