On October 26, 2024, the U9 set a Chinese national speed record of 391.94 km/h, becoming the country’s fastest car. Days later, it achieved a 7-minute, 17-second lap at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife. Owners drove nearly 600,000 kilometers, equivalent to circling China 20 times, with one car exceeding 15,600 kilometers.
Launched in February 2024 at 1.68 million yuan, the U9 features the “Time Gate” design with C-shaped lighting, bold lines, and a rear light bar with a carbon-fiber spoiler. Customization includes carbon-fiber wings and multicolor calipers, paired with 21-inch wheels (275/35 front, 325/30 rear).
The interior uses carbon fiber and Alcantara in a symmetrical layout with screens for driver and passenger, plus a central infotainment display. Four motors deliver 1,680 Nm torque, over 1,300 PS, and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.36 seconds, with a top speed of 309.19 km/h.
The U9’s 80 kWh battery offers a 450 km range, with fast charging from 30% to 80% in 10 minutes. The car’s achievements highlight BYD’s leadership in luxury electric vehicles, advancing sustainable transportation.
