Srinakarin Dam
The selected bidder will be responsible for the design, procurement, manufacturing, supply, delivery, project management, construction, testing, commissioning, and on-site training for the solar station. The project scope includes a floating photovoltaic system, anchoring and mooring mechanisms, a 33 kV electrical system with transmission lines, and a control and monitoring system. EGAT will provide the financing for the initiative.
Tender documents are available for purchase until September 26, 2025, at a cost of THB 30,000 (approximately USD 930), payable via bank transfer or telegraphic transfer. EGAT has scheduled December 16, 2025, as the provisional date for opening sealed bids.
The Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3 is expected to commence commercial operations in 2028. It forms part of EGAT’s broader plan to develop 16 floating solar projects across its dam reservoirs nationwide, aiming for a combined capacity exceeding 2.7 GW. This initiative builds on a previous tender earlier in 2025 for a 205 MW hydro-solar floating project at Bhumibol Dam, the largest arch dam in Southeast Asia.
The project reflects EGAT’s commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure in Thailand, leveraging the unique potential of dam reservoirs to generate clean energy. By integrating advanced solar technology, the Srinagarind Dam project will contribute to sustainable energy production and support Thailand’s efforts to diversify its energy mix.
