
In August alone, BYD recorded sales of 373,626 vehicles, a slight 0.15% rise year-on-year and an 8.52% increase from July 2025. Passenger vehicle sales reached 371,501 units, up 0.17% from August 2024 and 8.93% higher than the previous month. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 199,585 units, marking a 34.43% year-on-year surge and a 12.2% month-on-month growth, contributing 53.72% to passenger vehicle sales. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales totaled 171,916 units, down 22.69% from last year but up 5.38% from July 2025.
Overseas sales of new energy passenger vehicles and pickups in August reached 80,464 units, a significant 146.4% increase compared to August 2024. The Dynasty and Ocean series led with 342,838 vehicles sold, while the DENZA brand sold 11,993 units. The FANFGCHENGBAO and YANGWANG brands contributed 16,265 and 405 units, respectively. Commercial vehicle sales, however, fell to 2,125 units, down 4.67% year-on-year and 34.94% from July 2025.
On August 29, 2025, BYD released its financial results for the first half of 2025, reporting revenue of 371.3 billion yuan, a 23.3% increase from the previous year. Net profit for shareholders rose 13.8% to 15.51 billion yuan, with adjusted net profit up 10.4% to 13.599 billion yuan. The company’s cash reserves stood at 156.1 billion yuan, highlighting its financial stability and capacity for continued investment in research and development.
