Red Mountain Mining is conducting preliminary work to define areas for more intensive follow-up studies.
The total acquisition cost amounted to A$138,000 ($91,212.2), fully funded from the company’s internal cash reserves. With this step, Red Mountain aims to strengthen its portfolio of critical minerals while advancing exploration activities in the region.
The company has outlined an initial exploration program targeting undercover extensions of north-south structures associated with antimony mineralization at Antimony Canyon and Dry Wash Canyon. These structures extend into Red Mountain’s claims and are expected to provide strong exploration potential. A desktop study is currently under way, reviewing available magnetic and topographic data.
To enhance the study, Red Mountain plans to employ high-resolution drone magnetics and surface reconnaissance mapping to verify the location of sub-cropping structures. These efforts will define priority zones for more detailed follow-up studies. Potential next steps include ground electromagnetics to directly detect sulphide mineralization beneath shallow cover, as well as shallow trenching, auger drilling, and rotary air blast drilling to identify antimony mineralization within transported cover.
Lincoln Liu, Managing Director of Red Mountain, commented: “The Utah Antimony Project aligns with the US Government’s urgent push to secure its critical mineral supply chains by rapidly building domestic supply. Our project lies adjacent to Trigg Minerals’ Antimony Canyon Project, which is leading the way to becoming one of the first significant modern domestic producers of antimony for the US market. We are proud to have an established and highly experienced US-based technical team placing RMX and our shareholders in a tremendous position to rapidly advance our Utah Antimony Project.”
The Utah Antimony Project adds to Red Mountain’s strategic focus on resources considered essential for global supply chains. Antimony, a critical mineral, has applications in flame retardants, energy storage technologies, and defense-related industries. By securing new claims, the company aims to establish a long-term presence in the antimony sector while contributing to the development of domestic supply capabilities.
This acquisition demonstrates Red Mountain’s proactive approach to exploration and its commitment to advancing projects with strong potential for future development. The combination of desktop analysis, drone technology, and planned ground-based surveys positions the company to define prospective targets efficiently. Future exploration results will guide the design of systematic programs to assess the project’s mineral resources.
With the support of a skilled technical team and sufficient funding from existing reserves, Red Mountain is positioned to progress its Utah Antimony Project in alignment with growing demand for critical minerals.
