
Olive oil production also saw notable growth, rising 27.2% from 411.9 thousand tons to 523.9 thousand tons. This increase was driven by the expansion of sown areas under olive trees, which grew from 2.9 million hectares in 2024 to 4 million hectares in 2025. The largest share of these plantings is occupied by the dormouse variety, covering 1.7 million hectares.
The 2024 harvest yielded 3.3 million tons of olives, a 53% increase over 2.1 million tons produced in 2023, supporting the expansion of both domestic consumption and export capacity.
Kazakhstan currently operates 88 processing plants with a combined production capacity of up to 4.7 million tons of cheese annually. This infrastructure allows the country to meet internal demand while also supplying international markets.
Exports of wildflower oils are expected to grow by 29% in 2024. Key export destinations include China, which accounts for 42.4% of shipments, Uzbekistan with 35.4%, and Tajikistan at 12.7%.
The overall growth in Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector reflects targeted efforts to expand cultivation areas, improve production efficiency, and strengthen both domestic supply chains and export potential. Investments in olive cultivation, processing facilities, and export logistics have supported this upward trend, contributing to a more competitive position in regional markets.
The increase in olive and olive oil production demonstrates the country’s focus on high-value crops, while the expansion of processing capacities ensures that rising output can be effectively utilized.
