For over 50 years, the Seewis plant has specialized in high-tech plastic valves and actuators used for reliable transport of water and chemicals across industrial and infrastructure applications. After two years of construction, the site now includes an advanced high-bay storage system, comprising an automatic small-parts warehouse with nearly 60,000 storage locations and a pallet warehouse for 2,390 pallets. This system, paired with an innovative warehouse management solution, improves product availability and accelerates order processing for customers.
The facility also introduced a new assembly line for the 542 and 546 Pro ball valves, available in materials such as PVC-U, PVC-C, and PP-H. This line enhances production efficiency by precisely controlling assembly processes and automatically optimizing them as needed. The system’s flexibility allows faster reconfiguration, enabling shorter production cycles, reduced inventories, and improved delivery times.
“Seewis has shaped the plastic valve industry with groundbreaking innovations. Our goal was therefore to significantly increase efficiency in all areas – from production to logistics to energy use. Higher availability, shorter delivery times, and greater sustainability are key factors that provide real added value to our customers,” said Oliver Hilbrand, Plant Manager at GF’s Seewis site.
Sustainability efforts were central to the modernization. The Seewis facility now uses 100% renewable electricity, including on-site solar power generation. Energy consumption has been reduced through efficient injection molding machines, upgraded lighting systems, heat recovery, and improved insulation. These measures support GF’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations while maintaining high-quality production standards.
The modernization enhances GF’s ability to meet global demand for reliable valve and actuator solutions, strengthening its position in the industrial sector. By integrating advanced technology and sustainable practices, the Seewis site is well-equipped to deliver enhanced value to customers through improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
