The goal of the 2025 drilling programme is to assess the depth extent of the porphyry-style copper-molybdenum mineralisation.
The new drilling campaign aims to investigate the extensive copper-molybdenum mineralisation and alteration exposed at the surface, as well as a large, open-ended positive chargeability zone detected at depth. The primary target area spans about 4,500m in length and up to 2,000m in width, underlain by a chargeability anomaly measuring roughly 3,200m by 1,200m.
Copper mineralisation at Mineral Mountain occurs within Laramide-age rocks, which are characteristic hosts of porphyry copper systems in Arizona. The deposit features chalcocite, a copper sulphide mineral, along with notable gold concentrations—both typical indicators of porphyry-style copper deposits in the region.
Copper Fox president and CEO Elmer B. Stewart stated: “Copper Fox is excited to test this large, high-quality porphyry copper target that exhibits the mineralisation, alteration, host rocks and geophysical signatures typically observed at other porphyry copper deposits in Arizona. The size of the porphyry footprint and its location on a north-east trending porphyry copper belt that hosts some of the largest porphyry copper deposits in Arizona is an indication of the porphyry potential of the Mineral Mountain project.”
The 2025 drilling programme is designed to determine the depth and scale of the copper-molybdenum mineralisation and alteration already identified at the surface. It will also seek to pinpoint the source of the deep, open-ended chargeability anomaly, which could represent a significant mineralised zone.
The project’s geological characteristics, combined with its proximity to several major copper deposits, make Mineral Mountain a strategically important asset within Arizona’s copper-rich Laramide belt. The results from the ongoing drilling are expected to provide key insights into the project’s potential for large-scale copper development.
