Electric power lines in Chile’s desert
The Machupichu-Quencoro-Onocora-Tintaya transmission line will deliver electricity to the city of Cusco, where energy demand currently outstrips supply. It will also enhance the reliability of existing power lines in the region, improving access to stable electricity for local communities. The concession agreement for this project has been formalized with Darby International Capital, a private equity group.
This initiative aligns with efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure in southern Peru, addressing growing electricity needs and supporting regional development. By expanding and modernizing the power grid, the project will contribute to a more consistent energy supply, benefiting residents and businesses in Cusco and surrounding areas.
The contract reflects Acciona’s expertise in delivering large-scale energy projects, combining construction, financing, and long-term maintenance. The company’s work on the transmission line and substations will incorporate sustainable practices to ensure the project meets environmental and operational standards.
