Origin Tianji 4.0 serves as the core control unit for quantum computers, managing precise signal generation and processing for quantum chips. Upgraded from the version 3.0 used in Origin Wukong, China’s third-generation superconducting quantum computer, the new system offers improved scalability, integration, stability, and automation, according to industry reports.
Kong Weicheng, deputy director of the Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center and leader of the Tianji 4.0 research team, highlighted the system’s efficiency: “Our fully self-developed hardware and software architectures enhance control and readout precision, accelerating quantum computer development.” These advancements streamline production and delivery processes.
Integrated with Origin Quantum’s four proprietary software systems, Tianji 4.0 optimizes the adjustment and testing of superconducting quantum chips. Complex tasks previously requiring advanced expertise are now simplified into standardized processes, enabling engineers to perform them efficiently.
Guo Guoping, director of the Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center and chief scientist at Origin Quantum, emphasized the milestone: “The launch of Tianji 4.0 establishes replicable engineering capabilities, paving the way for mass production of hundred-qubit quantum computers.” This development strengthens China’s position in global quantum technology innovation.
Since its debut on January 6, 2024, Origin Wukong, powered by Tianji 3.0, has executed over 380,000 quantum computing tasks for more than 26 million users across 139 countries. The platform supports applications in finance, biomedicine, and fluid dynamics, with significant user engagement from the United States, Russia, Japan, and Canada. Global visits to Wukong have exceeded 20 million, reflecting its widespread adoption.
Origin Tianji 4.0 is now driving the development of China’s next-generation quantum computer, contributing to a fully independent solution in the global quantum technology race. This achievement underscores Origin Quantum’s commitment to advancing quantum computing through innovation and collaboration.
