Built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (CSSC), the BYD ZHENG ZHOU, a sister ship to the BYD HEFEI, is 199.9 meters long and 38 meters wide, capable of carrying 7,000 vehicles. It features dual-fuel LNG engines, a permanent magnet shaft generator, and energy-efficient technologies. The vessel’s name reflects BYD’s Zhengzhou production base, in line with the company’s naming convention.
BYD’s growing fleet includes vessels like BYD EXPLORER No. 1, BYD CHANGZHOU, BYD HEFEI, BYD SHENZHEN, BYD XI'AN, and now BYD ZHENG ZHOU, with plans for BYD CHANGSHA and BYD JINAN. By 2026, BYD aims to operate an eight-ship fleet to streamline deliveries to Europe and expand its global presence.
In addition to sea transport, BYD is leveraging railway shipping and overseas manufacturing. In June 2024, its Uzbekistan joint venture factory assembled its first Song PLUS DM-i. Concurrently, over 260 vehicles from Zhengzhou were shipped by freight train to Uzbekistan from a nearby international dry port.
BYD’s export strategy yielded 472,000 vehicle exports in the first half of 2025, a 130% increase year-on-year, underscoring its robust global growth.
