For the Grimsmark-Gumboda section, NCC is set to provide 66,000t of asphalt.
The first contract covers the section between Grimsmark and Gumboda in Västerbotten. NCC will provide 66,000 tons of asphalt from its production facility in Skellefteå. Work is planned to take place between 2025 and 2027. This phase is being carried out for NYAB, with the Swedish Transport Administration serving as the client.
The second contract focuses on the European route E10, specifically between Avakko and Lappeasuando in Gällivare. NCC will supply and lay 82,000 tons of asphalt for this route. The work is scheduled for the period 2025 to 2028. In addition to asphalt laying, NCC is also performing road reinforcement measures on this stretch of road on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration.
NCC has highlighted that the asphalt used in these projects has about half the climate footprint compared with conventional production, while maintaining quality and durability. The company emphasized that this approach combines sustainability with efficiency in delivering road infrastructure. The total value of Skr175 million will be included in NCC’s Industry business segment during the third quarter of 2025.
Johan Brus, head of department at NCC Industry, commented: “NCC has longstanding experience of earthworks and paving, and these major contracts place high demands on logistics and delivery reliability. It is particularly important in northern Sweden that the roads are maintained in good condition for society to function properly, and I am pleased that NCC can play a part in improving the infrastructure here.”
In addition to the roadwork contracts, NCC has recently been commissioned for a construction project in Jönköping Municipality. The company will build a new nursing home and group home, including earth and groundworks. This project, valued at around Skr370 million, will be carried out under a fixed-price construction contract.
The planned nursing home will have three floors and 97 residential units. The facility will also provide areas for staff operations, recreational activities, and administrative functions. The project is part of NCC’s broader portfolio, which includes both infrastructure development and social construction initiatives.
Through these recent contracts, NCC is reinforcing its role as a key contributor to Sweden’s infrastructure and public facility development. The company’s projects demonstrate a combination of sustainable practices, technical expertise, and support for essential community services.
