In Shenzhen, COSCO Container (Hong Kong), a wholly-owned subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Holdings, signed a joint venture agreement with COSCO Shipping Logistics (Guangzhou), Shenzhen Port Logistics Group, and CCCC Fourth Harbour. Together they will establish Shenzhen COSCO Shipping Smart Supply Chain, a new company with a registered capital of RMB1 billion ($140 million). COSCO Container will hold a 37% stake.
The company will operate as a central collecting and distribution hub in Yantian, featuring high-standard warehouses, cold chain storage, customs-supervised facilities, and a multifunctional logistics park. According to COSCO, the project will enhance its digital supply chain strategy and further consolidate its presence in the Pearl River Delta, one of China’s most dynamic logistics regions.
On the same day in Singapore, COSCO announced another partnership, this time with PSA, the world’s largest container transshipment operator. COSCO’s joint venture company, Goldlead Supply Chain Development (Southeast Asia), signed a memorandum of understanding with PSA for the creation of PSA Supply Chain Hub @ Tuas (PSCH). The facility, scheduled to open in 2027, will be located in the Tuas Free Trade Zone, the site of Singapore’s next-generation megaport.
PSCH will integrate warehousing, cold storage, hazardous goods handling, and distribution under a single complex. PSA highlighted that the project represents a move beyond container handling into full supply chain services, offering value-added solutions to global customers. COSCO noted that the partnership extends the long-standing cooperation between the two companies and is designed to “support the growing movement of high-value goods across Southeast Asia, China and the wider Asia-Pacific.”
The Tuas initiative aligns with Singapore’s role as a major logistics hub and COSCO’s strategy to develop overseas logistics networks in parallel with its domestic projects. By establishing a presence in both Yantian and Tuas, COSCO is positioning itself to facilitate smoother cargo flows, integrate digital logistics solutions, and address demand for advanced supply chain management.
The dual announcements underscore COSCO’s approach of combining infrastructure development with technology-driven logistics services. In the Pearl River Delta, the focus will be on strengthening regional distribution and digital integration. In Singapore, the emphasis will be on enhancing international connectivity and expanding service capabilities in Southeast Asia.
With projects underway in two strategic locations, COSCO Shipping Holdings is advancing efforts to provide comprehensive logistics solutions that complement its container shipping operations and meet growing demand for efficient, integrated supply chains.
