This agreement also builds on the long-established relationship between Gulf Air and Boeing, a partnership that has supported our growth for decades.”
The 787 Dreamliner, known for its fuel efficiency, long range, and enhanced passenger experience, plays a central role in Gulf Air’s long-haul operations connecting over 50 destinations. With 10 787s currently in service, the airline is positioned to expand its network to new and existing markets across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said: “Gulf Air is taking exciting steps to expand its global footprint and we are honored the airline has confirmed the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as the cornerstone of its fleet today and in the decades ahead. The 787’s superior efficiency and passenger comfort fit perfectly with Gulf Air’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.”
The 787 Dreamliner serves as Gulf Air’s flagship aircraft, offering several passenger-focused innovations. It features the largest windows of any widebody jet, lower cabin altitude and higher humidity levels for greater comfort, and technology that senses and counters turbulence for smoother flights. These enhancements aim to improve the travel experience while supporting the airline’s sustainability goals through more efficient fuel consumption and reduced emissions.
The new order aligns with Gulf Air’s strategy to modernize and grow its long-haul fleet, strengthening its competitive position and supporting ongoing network expansion. By incorporating additional 787 Dreamliners, the airline will be able to increase seat capacity, improve operational efficiency, and maintain a high-quality travel experience for its passengers.
The agreement reflects the decades-long partnership between Gulf Air and Boeing, which has been instrumental in supporting the airline’s fleet development and international growth. With the delivery of the new aircraft, Gulf Air plans to continue expanding its presence in key global markets while reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and passenger comfort.
