EXIM will undertake thorough due diligence upon receiving a financing application from Pure Lithium.
EXIM will conduct a detailed evaluation once Pure Lithium submits a formal financing application to assess the project’s feasibility. Any final agreement will depend on meeting EXIM’s underwriting criteria, approval procedures, and all specified terms.
Emilie Bodoin, Pure Lithium’s founder and CEO, stated: “This project will be very impactful for US manufacturing in the crucial sector of energy storage. Our disruptive Brine to Battery technology will enable the creation of the first complete US-based battery supply chain, from sourcing the materials to producing the finished product.”
The initiative aims to strengthen domestic battery production, enhancing U.S. energy security and global competitiveness, in alignment with EXIM’s objectives. The potential funding may receive special consideration under EXIM’s 2019 reauthorization, which focuses on supporting U.S. leadership in transformative export sectors.
Through EXIM’s China and Transformational Exports Program (CTEP), the project could benefit from reduced fees, extended repayment terms, and tailored policies for initiatives with significant U.S. content. The program supports U.S. exporters in emerging technology sectors, fostering innovation and market leadership.
In March 2025, Pure Lithium also secured funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technology Office to develop a closed-loop domestic supply chain for lithium metal anodes, further advancing its efforts to bolster U.S. battery production capabilities.
