This new achievement surpasses CPN’s previous record of 5,500 MT, which was delivered to the same containership in February 2025. The latest operation underscores CPN’s growing capacity and expertise in marine biofuels. In 2024, the company supplied over 44,000 metric tons of biofuels in Hong Kong, securing a dominant market share of more than 96%.
In addition to this latest accomplishment, CPN has also made strides in promoting sustainable marine fuels. At the start of 2025, the company delivered ISCC-EU-certified B24 marine biofuel to Royal Caribbean’s Celebrity Solstice, a 2008-built cruise ship, in Hong Kong.
CPN has also been active in supporting other shipping companies with their biofuel initiatives. The company previously provided biofuel to Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) for its first biofuel bunkering operation in Hong Kong. Additionally, CPN collaborated with Singapore-based Swire Shipping, part of Swire Group, to conduct a sustainable B24 biofuel trial on Swire’s transpacific service.
Further demonstrating its commitment to green energy, CPN has partnered with Hong Kong and China Gas Company (Towngas) to develop both domestic and international green methanol marine fuel markets. This partnership also aims to establish Hong Kong as a leading center for green marine fuel.
Through these initiatives, CPN continues to play a key role in advancing sustainable marine fuel solutions, contributing to the maritime industry's efforts to reduce its environmental impact and move towards more eco-friendly fuel alternatives.
