The BESS is integrated with the Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) transmission network, operating at a charge and discharge voltage of 63 kV. This setup is optimized for providing grid-balancing services, ensuring stability in electricity supply and demand. Equipped with Tesla Megapack batteries and the Autobidder control system, the system efficiently manages charging and discharging processes to enhance performance and reliability.
The project supports France’s efforts to strengthen its renewable energy framework by offering a robust solution for storing and distributing clean energy. The use of advanced battery technology enables the facility to store excess energy during periods of high renewable generation and release it when demand peaks, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable energy grid.
This initiative reflects Harmony Energy’s commitment to expanding innovative energy storage solutions across Europe. By leveraging cutting-edge technology at the Nantes-Saint-Nazaire port, the project not only bolsters local energy infrastructure but also sets a benchmark for large-scale energy storage systems in the region.
