No Propagation 3.0
The NP3.0 platform delivers improvements across chemistry, structure, systems, and controls. It incorporates eight technological features: flame-retardant electrolyte, flame-retardant separator, nano-coating on cathode materials, cell safety devices, aerogel thermal insulation pads, fire-retardant coating, circuit stabilization control, and high-voltage active cooling.

CATL explained that under extreme thermal runaway conditions, NP3.0 prevents heat transfer between cells while keeping the high-voltage power supply stable for over an hour. This allows vehicles to safely exit in emergencies. The system suppresses flames and smoke, reduces the likelihood of secondary accidents, and provides redundancy to meet the continuous power demands of L3/L4 intelligent driving applications.
Shenxing Pro in Europe’s EV market
As Europe accelerates electrification, concerns remain regarding cost, driving range, durability, charging speed, and safety. LFP batteries, which are recognized for safety and affordability, are increasingly adopted by European carmakers.

The Shenxing Pro is built on NP3.0 and features CATL’s new Wave cell design with Cell-to-Body integration, achieving 76% system efficiency. According to CATL, it offers improvements in safety, driving range, fast charging, and lifecycle performance, aligning well with Europe’s new energy vehicle requirements.
Two battery versions launched
At the Munich event, CATL unveiled two Shenxing Pro variants. The Super Long Life & Long Range Battery provides a WLTP range of 758 km and a lifespan of up to 12 years or 1 million km for passenger cars. After 200,000 km, its capacity loss is limited to 9%, helping preserve residual value and meeting the needs of Europe’s leasing models.
The Super-Fast Charging Battery delivers a WLTP range of 683 km with 12C peak charging. It can add 478 km of driving range within 10 minutes. Even in low temperatures of –20°C, it can recharge from 20% to 80% capacity within 20 minutes. CATL noted it is currently the fastest-charging LFP battery available in Europe, designed to perform reliably in cold climates.
Strengthening partnerships in Europe
CATL already works with over 90% of Europe’s leading carmakers. The company operates major facilities in Germany and Hungary, with another under development in Spain. The launch of NP3.0 and Shenxing Pro highlights CATL’s strategy to expand collaboration with European manufacturers while supporting the region’s green energy transition.
