
The project includes deploying subsea cables from Visakhapatnam to link with Google’s extensive global network, which spans two million miles of land and subsea cables. Google is collaborating with AdaniConneX and Airtel to execute this initiative, leveraging their expertise to support the hub’s development.
A Google-commissioned analysis projects that this investment will contribute $15 billion to U.S. GDP over the five-year period through increased cloud and AI adoption, as well as the involvement of American talent and resources in the hub’s development and operations.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu stated: “We are proud to host India’s first truly gigawatt-scale data centre and Google’s first AI hub in India, which is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation, AI adoption, and long-term support for businesses and startups in the state.”
The Visakhapatnam hub marks a significant step in advancing India’s digital infrastructure, fostering innovation, and supporting local enterprises. It aligns with Google’s broader presence in India, where it operates research and development centers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. Globally, Google maintains data center campuses in 12 countries, reinforcing its commitment to expanding technological capabilities.

The hub’s infrastructure, combining high-capacity data centers with sustainable energy solutions, will enhance efficiency and scalability for regional and global operations.
