The partnership strengthens the ability of both companies to deliver high-performance, cost-effective carbon fiber rollers to machine manufacturers globally and in Europe. By optimizing the supply chain and improving local support for Italian clients, the acquisition enhances service quality and product offerings.
This marks Epsilon Composite’s first acquisition, fully funded through its own resources following a capital increase in 2024, when Sumitomo Corporation, a long-term partner from Japan, became a minority shareholder. The move builds on a nearly 35-year relationship between the two companies, rooted in strong industrial, commercial, and personal ties between their founding families and teams.
Lucia Sarasini, managing director of Cometec, will continue leading the company to ensure operational continuity until her retirement. She stated: “The union with Epsilon is a natural outcome. For our customers, there will be no operational changes, but they will benefit from significant technological advancements thanks to the synergies with Epsilon Composite.”
Since its founding in 1989, Cometec has produced carbon fiber rollers using pull-winding techniques and K1 tubes supplied by Epsilon Composite. The company serves both Italian and global industrial clients, excelling in responsiveness and expertise in roller assembly, machining, and technical surface coatings. Cometec meets the needs of clients requiring small to medium batch production with short lead times, flexibility, and high-quality standards.
Epsilon Composite, a family-owned business, specializes in carbon fiber pultrusion and serves diverse sectors, including industry, energy, civil engineering, and aerospace. Over 80% of its revenue comes from international markets. Its Epsilon Rollers division ranks among the top three global manufacturers of technical rollers for industries such as technical film production, nonwoven textile manufacturing, and flexographic printing.
The acquisition enhances Epsilon Composite’s position in the global market by integrating Cometec’s expertise and customer base. It fosters technological advancements and streamlines production processes, ensuring competitive solutions for industrial applications.
By maintaining Cometec’s operational independence, the partnership respects its established market presence while leveraging Epsilon’s resources to drive innovation. The collaboration supports the growing demand for advanced materials in industrial manufacturing, aligning with trends toward efficiency and sustainability.
The acquisition reflects Epsilon Composite’s strategic focus on expanding its global footprint while strengthening ties with trusted partners. It positions both companies to meet the evolving needs of machine manufacturers, delivering high-quality, reliable products to support industrial growth worldwide.
