Air Products facility in Cleveland, Ohio
Alongside the new build, Air Products is reinvesting in its Cleveland site to extend the life of an existing ASU and liquefier plant. Products from the site include gaseous oxygen, gaseous nitrogen, and liquid argon. These are supplied under a long-term agreement to an onsite customer, while additional volumes are distributed to the regional merchant market.
Commenting on the development, Francesco Maione, Air Products’ President for the Americas, said: “The new facility enhances this location as it will continue to provide a strategic footprint in an important merchant market while continuing to serve a significant onsite customer who is also investing at that location. Our Cleveland operations serve a very diverse customer base in the regional area. The location is a good example of Air Products’ strength of production and supply from our base industrial gas business.”
Air Products has been active in Cleveland since the 1960s. Today, its Cleveland operations supply industries including chemicals, food, electronics, primary materials, fabricated metals, health and medical, and utilities. In addition, the plant functions as a liquid back-up source, ensuring continuous gaseous supply for other customers in the area.
The company emphasized that this latest investment reflects its ongoing commitment to both its long-term partners and its wider merchant network in the region. The Cleveland site is positioned as a key hub for delivering flexible supply solutions across diverse industries, supporting business continuity and growth for its customers.
