SEG and Yokogawa China have a history of collaboration on refining and ethylene projects within China. The MoC establishes a framework for both companies to deepen cooperation on international EPC projects. The partnership is expected to bring mutual benefits, particularly in industrial automation and broader geographical coverage.
SEG, part of the Sinopec Group, is a leading engineering company specializing in the design and construction of oil refineries and petrochemical plants both domestically and internationally. SEG’s decision to formalize this agreement reflects its recognition of Yokogawa as a trusted partner with expertise in engineering, project execution, and related capabilities required for global expansion.
Under the MoC, Yokogawa will provide its advanced control and safety systems, along with associated services, for SEG’s projects in China and overseas. This collaboration is designed to enhance operational efficiency, project execution quality, and technological integration in engineering projects.
Kunimasa Shigeno, Yokogawa Electric Director, President and CEO, Representative Executive Officer, said: “It was an honour to be invited to SEG's headquarters to witness this strategic milestone. Through this partnership, we look forward to working with SEG to ensure successful projects for our mutual end customers in China and beyond.”
The MoC reflects both companies’ commitment to leveraging their respective strengths in EPC project delivery. Yokogawa brings extensive expertise in industrial automation and process control, while SEG contributes engineering design, project management, and construction capabilities. Together, the partnership aims to streamline project execution, reduce operational risks, and optimize resource utilization.
This cooperation is part of a broader trend of international partnerships in the oil refining and petrochemical sectors, emphasizing technological innovation, safety, and efficiency in large-scale industrial projects. By combining local experience with global technical knowledge, SEG and Yokogawa China aim to strengthen project outcomes and support sustainable industrial growth.
The agreement also positions both companies to respond more effectively to global demand for complex EPC projects, particularly in regions where integrated control and safety systems are critical to project success. The collaboration under the MoC sets the stage for long-term cooperation, aiming to enhance engineering quality, operational performance, and end-user satisfaction across multiple international projects.
