All five Australian cities served by Emirates—Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide—now feature the carrier's latest-generation aircraft and Premium Economy offering. This includes four-class A380 services to four cities, four-class Boeing 777 operations from Melbourne, and the A350 from Adelaide. Currently, 56 of Emirates' 70 weekly flights between Australia and Dubai are operated by these modern aircraft, providing passengers with access to enhanced onboard products and over 5,000 weekly Premium Economy seats on the route.
The A350 operates daily on flights EK440 and EK441. EK440 departs Dubai at 02:00 and arrives in Adelaide at 20:50 local time. The return flight EK441 leaves Adelaide at 22:50 and lands in Dubai at 05:20 the following day.
Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, stated:"This is a landmark moment for Emirates, highlighting Adelaide and South Australia's vital role in our global operations. Adelaide proudly becomes the first Australian city to welcome the Emirates A350. With this, our new and highly acclaimed Premium Economy cabin debuts in Adelaide, completing the cabin's rollout across all five of Emirates' Australian gateways."
South Australian Minister for Tourism, Hon Zoe Bettison, commented: "The arrival of Emirates new ultra-long-range A350 into Adelaide is another major aviation development for tourism in South Australia. It makes this flight even more attractive to potential visitors from key global markets, further boosting the more than $62 million that the Emirates' daily direct non-stop flights generate in tourism expenditure in South Australia each year."
Brenton Cox, Managing Director at Adelaide Airport, added: "These new longer range aircraft are a game changer for Adelaide because of their size and range, which are perfectly suited to our market. The brand new Airbus A350-900ULR is state-of-the-art and offers the latest in technology and comfort, as well as offering more seats, and more cabin choice. The introduction of Premium Economy seats is similarly a significant win for our customers."
Configured with 298 seats across three classes, the Emirates A350 features 32 next-generation Business Class seats (1-2-1 layout), 28 Premium Economy seats (2-3-2 layout), and 238 Economy Class seats (3-3-3 layout). The aircraft offers a range exceeding 14,000 km and is recognized as the most fuel-efficient widebody in service, along with providing the quietest twin-aisle cabin available.
Separately, Emirates has activated an interline agreement with Bahamasair, enabling seamless single-ticket travel from its global network via Miami or Orlando to Nassau and Freeport in The Bahamas. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year, expands connectivity options for passengers traveling to the Caribbean destination while offering unified baggage handling across both carriers.
