The AIIH focuses on three objectives: AI transformation, AI enablement and AI leadership, closely aligned with Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0. Beyond providing infrastructure, the hub offers end-to-end capabilities to bridge the gap between enterprises’ and government agencies’ AI strategies and their actual deployment. A recent study highlighted that 62% of businesses in Singapore prefer AI partners capable of managing projects comprehensively, from planning to execution.
The hub enables collaboration among organisations and partners, validating use cases and testing prototypes developed in Singapore for wider application in the region. Since 2024, more than 100 proof-of-concepts, workshops and demonstrations in AI engineering, generative AI and predictive AI have been conducted. To date, the hub has created about 50 prototypes, workshop modules and demo models tailored for APJ enterprises. Many of these initiatives are moving toward deployment in industries such as energy, telecommunications and education.
In the energy sector, projects focus on reinforcing infrastructure resilience and introducing digital tools such as chatbots to enhance customer experience. In telecommunications, Dell is helping a leading provider streamline AI deployment and improve operational efficiency. In education, AI cloud technologies are being applied to strengthen research capabilities and drive innovation.
Complementing the AIIH, the Dell Technologies AI Centre of Excellence Lab advances research in AI PCs and edge computing. The lab collaborates with academic institutions and hardware partners to validate proof-of-concepts and deliver scalable AI solutions across hybrid environments.
To support talent development, Dell is working with 10 local institutes of higher learning to integrate AI-related skills, including AI engineering, machine learning operations, containerisation and cloud-native architecture. According to research, 47% of organisations in Singapore reported shortages in local AI talent. By the end of 2025, Dell aims to train about 10,000 students and midcareer professionals through the AIIH, equipping them with relevant skills. The company also organises initiatives such as Dell InnovateFest and the SCDF and Dell Innovation Challenge, which provide platforms for students and partners to showcase innovation and apply technology for social benefit.
At the forum, Andy Sim, Vice President & Managing Director of Dell Technologies Singapore, said: “Our latest research shows that 90% of local enterprises are increasing investment in AI projects over the next 6-12 months. Organisations in Singapore recognise that AI is the foundation of future growth. The Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub, aligned with Singapore's National AI Strategy 2.0, is powering AI transformation, accelerating AI enablement and driving leadership for Singapore and the region. This is a testament to the impact we can create when we harness the collective capabilities of the tech ecosystem to shape AI for the future.”
